Washington's ballot comes off saltwater and out of the orchard. Cedar-Plank Salmon is the centerpiece, with the Salmon Burger as its weeknight version. Puget Sound supplies Dungeness Crab, Geoduck sliced thin, tiny Olympia Oysters, the only native West Coast oyster, and a brief Spot Prawn Cocktail season. East of the mountains, Yakima Valley grows the fruit for Yakima Apple Pie and Walla Walla Sweet Onion Rings. Teriyaki is the everyday plate, the Seattle Dog the late-night one. What Washington is famous for swims upstream or grows east of the mountains. So what is Washington's official state dish? Ten dishes, one vote.
